Biodegradable trickle bodies for the biological degradation of nitrate and phosphate. Tropic Marin® NP-BACTO-TRICKS are biodegradable trickling filters for effective nitrate and phosphate decomposition in aquaria. Like the NP-BACTO-PELLETS, they consist of an innovative mixture of biopolymers that promotes the colonization and growth of nitrate and phosphate utilizing bacteria and other aerobic microorganisms. The biomass produced during the decomposition of the NP-BACTO-TRICKS is flushed by the water current into the aquarium, where it is available or can be skimmed off as high-quality food for corals and other filter feeders. The BIO-ACTIF REACTOR 5000 from Tropic Marin®, specially developed for the use of NP-BACTO-TRICKS, ensures the optimal oxygen supply to the microorganisms during the decomposition of NP-BACTO-TRICKS.
