Carbonate pro instant is a special buffer and carbonate hardness (kH) former that ensures that the pH in saltwater aquariums is stabilized at a value between 8.0 and 8.3 and replaces carbonate hardness that has been used up by precipitation and biological degradation processes. Carbonate pro instant thus protects against dangerous fluctuations in the pH value. In reef aquariums the ideal kH value is approx. 10° kH 1 measuring spoon (approx. 8g) results in an increase in carbonate hardness of approx. 1°kH per 100 litres of aquarium water.
