Low nitrate and phosphate concentrations as in nature allow bright and shining colours with very good growth and excellent vitality of the corals. To create these natural conditions in the aquarium, the nutrient concentrations must be controlled. Tropic Marin® NP-BACTO-PELLETS are completely new biodegradable pellets made from a mixture of natural biopolymers. They promote the colonization and growth of nitrate and phosphate utilizing bacteria and other aerobic microorganisms. By abrasion and degradation of the pellets the microorganisms are flushed into the aquarium where they are available as high-quality food for corals and other filter feeders or can be skimmed off.
