Fungiidae LPS Stony Corals
Fungiidae are LPS stony corals with round disk shaped to elongated skeletons. Heliofungi have long tentacles and look like anemones at first sight. All others have short tentacles. As young animals they are still connected to the reef. With increasing weight of the skeleton the stem breaks off and the animals lie loose on the reef bottom.
