Natural binder from algae for the formation of reef snow particles Due to the high biological activity in intact coral reefs, high concentrations of biopolymeric substances are found especially there. In contact with nutrient particles and through colonization with specialized bacteria, particles with an increased nutrient content are formed, which are also visible to the naked eye. These flaky to filamentous particles are known as reef snow. Tropic Marin® PRO-CORAL REEF SNOW contains such natural marine biopolymers. Together with other feed ingredients, they form nutrient-rich flakes similar to those found in natural reef snow and feed them to corals and other filter feeders. The concentration of a PRO-CORAL REEF SNOW solution can be varied to adapt the size of the flakes individually to the filterers maintained in the tank.
